Join us for Angelo State Big Band’s highly anticipated fall concert!

Under the direction of Dr. Trent Shuey, this year’s theme highlights the rich and dynamic rhythms of Latin jazz, a genre that merges Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and other Latin American styles with the improvisational freedom of jazz. Audiences will be treated to a vibrant and rhythmic experience as the Big Band explores the work of Latin jazz legends.

The concert will feature ASU’s top jazz musicians, with an array of instrumental solos. Attendees can expect to hear a wide range of iconic pieces that highlight the fusion of jazz with Latin rhythms, including mambo, salsa, samba and bossa nova. Joining us will be a special guest, Tennley Wilson, a vocal major at Angelo State.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the infectious rhythms and melodies that make Latin jazz one of the most exciting genres in contemporary music.
