The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of World War II’s conclusion! Join us as we commemorate that momentous event with a lecture on universal military training after WWII.

Portrait of Dr. William Taylor For the third and final lecture of the 2024-25 school year, the History Lecture Series welcomes Dr. William Taylor as he talks about the campaign for military training after WWII.

Taylor is a professor in the Department of Security Studies and Criminal Justice where he also serves as the chair.

His lecture is based on a book he published in 2014 with Texas A&M University Press, “Every Citizen a Soldier: The Campaign for Universal Military Training after World War II.”
