Four Words: YouTube, Baseball, Brooks, Anderson

Angelo State baseball is a feared contender in NCAA Division II competition. It is serious stuff for Kevin Brooks, head coach and reigning ABCA/Diamond South Central Coach of the Year, and John Anderson, assistant coach.

The student-athletes are serious, too, with five former Rams now playing in Major League Baseball organizations and numerous players garnering academic and athletic awards.

Off the field, though, the camera catches up with their lighter side. The YouTube show “Ram Talk Daily” follows Brooks and Anderson for game previews, player interviews and the now infamous “Four Words” quiz game.

“Four Words” requires a coach or guest to construct a sentence using four words that are provided by Brooks or Anderson.

One gem of a combination posed to West Texas A&M head baseball coach Matt Vanderburg included “juxtapose, ambiguous, tactical and fortress” while Texas A&M Kingsville head coach Jason Gonzales fielded “cat, chump, javelina and crush.” Vanderburg protested the inequity of the contest and walked it off.

If you love the game of baseball and enjoy a look behind the scenes with coaches and players, along with a little lighthearted repartee, this show is definitely for you. Catch it on the Angelo Sports channel on YouTube.
