Assignments Altered after VP Departure

December 20, 2011

Some administrative changes will be implemented at Angelo State University in the wake of the departure of Dr. James M. Limbaugh, vice president for strategy, planning and policy, to become chancellor at Montana State-Northern in Havre, Mont., effective Jan. 1.

As the vacant vice presidential position will not be re-filled, those offices and individuals who reported to that vice presidential position will be reassigned to other vice presidents.  The Office of Information Technology will report to Michael Reid, the vice president for finance and administration.

Additionally, the Office of Institutional Research will now report to Dr. Brian May, the provost and vice president for academic affairs.  As a part of that realignment, Dr. Sarah Logan, assistant vice president for institutional research and accountability, will now serve as ASU’s institutional liaison for the university’s reaccreditation process through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on Colleges.

Responsibility for coordinating and maintaining quarterly planning reports and related documents as well as for serving as the strategic planning liaison with the Texas Tech University System will now be assigned to Crystal Braden, director of institutional planning, policy and effectiveness.

Also, June M. Moore, administrative assistant and SACS/Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) specialist, will serve as administrative assistant to the QEP director.

Under the new alignment, job descriptions and responsibilities may be modified to provide for greater efficiency, responsiveness and continuity of actions.  The changes in vice presidential responsibilities are subject to the approval of the chancellor of the Texas Tech University System upon notification of the board of regents.
