Professors Say Students Need Better Research Skills

A national survey of faculty found new undergraduates are lacking in basic research skills, and librarians contribute significantly to developing research skills to student learning.

The Chronicle of Higher Education reported the results of a survey conducted every three years in which faculty indicated incoming college students need better research skills. The survey goes on to show most faculty felt that finding and evaluating information is an important educational goal in the courses they teach, and librarians contribute significantly to student research skills and learning.
