Brittney Barksdale of Burnet and Caitlyn Buck of San Angelo each won individual national titles at the U.S.A. Powerlifting 2017 Bench Press Nationals contest.
Competing in the Junior Division against individuals aged 20-24 from across the U.S., Barksdale placed first in the Women’s 185-Lb Raw Division with a lift of 209 pounds, and Buck took first place in the Women’s 138-Lb Equipped Division with a lift of 204 pounds. Also for ASU, Jerry Robertson of San Antonio placed second in the Men’s 231-Lb Raw Division with a lift of 440 pounds.
