ASU’s chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) national biology honor society was named the Outstanding Chapter in District 2 (Texas) for the 2017-18 academic year.
Additionally, three ASU students won top prizes for their research presentations at the 2018 Tri-Beta National Convention. Hunter Miears of Center Point won first place in the Microbiology category for his oral presentation. Nicholas Evans of San Angelo won second place in the Microbiology category for his oral presentation. M’Kayla Motley of Lamesa won second place in the Ecology category for her oral presentation. The ASU chapter also won first place in the Chapter History competition for its scrapbook entry.
