Elizabeth Watkins first met with the SBDC in 2017, interested in opening a liquor store in Sonora, TX.
She requested help with creating a plan to turn an older building into her vision of the second liquor store in Sonora, TX and taking a portion of the market share. She also needed guidance on choosing a business entity, filing with the TABC, and understanding cash flow.
Elizabeth met with several advisors at the SBDC over the course of two years. With the help of Advisor Alejandro Castanon, she was able to apply for her TABC license, establish an LLC, and develop a marketing plan for her business.
Elizabeth was able to open her store after several months of renovation work. She is now full in operation and serving customers in her community.
