Wendell Bowie is a certified mechanic that has been operating his automotive repair business as a sole proprietorship. He has the opportunity to purchase the building he has been operating out of for several years.
In doing so, he felt that he should do something that would protect his personal assets. He and his wife Tessa reached out to the Angelo State University Small Business Development Center. They were assigned to James Leavelle, Senior Certified Business Advisor. James discussed the types of legal structures with them, as well as the need for an EIN and a sales tax permit.
Wendell and Tessa decided the LLC would best meet their needs. James assisted them in the filing process for their LLC, EIN, and their sales tax permit.
