Do you like hands-on learning and sharing that knowledge with kids of all ages? Students will work on the outreach STEM program, West Texas Space Vaqueres, for 18 weeks learning to build and launch rockets, design shoebox rovers for exploring other bodies in the solar system, and sharing all that knowledge with students in grades 3-12 this summer in virtual and in-person camps. Duties include attending virtual and in-person training for rocketry and shoebox rover programs in partnership with the Tom Green County Library. Learn RockSim software and Niche Academy Learning Management System. Create, revise, and edit curriculum, promotional materials, and other project documents in multiple formats, from video to print. Kit, prepare, and test materials for the camp, mentor in-person or online student participants through the camp and assist with rocket launches and build nights. Other duties as assigned.
Starting ASAP. The position is for May – July 2022.
Individuals will work up to 20 hours per week. To qualify for this position, you are required to enroll in Summer 2022 courses.
