Student Assistant, Research & Instruction Services

  • Reports to the Assistant Director for Research and Instruction and other Research Support Team employees
  • Provides Research Assistance via email, discussion boards (potentially other virtual platforms), telephone, and in person
  • Retrieving and shelving material
  • Searching library databases, examining publication information and data entry using Excel
  • Other tasks as assigned


  • Conscientious student who can work 15 to 20 hours per week
  • Ability to focus on tasks requiring attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer knowledge including experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Efficient time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision

Position requires visual acuity, full range of motion including but not limited to standing, sitting, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling book carts weighing up to 300 pounds, and lifting up to 30 pounds.


  • Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Can be flexible around class schedule within allotted hours
  • Fall, Spring, and Summer availability preferred
