Roberta Stephens & David Weaver had just purchased an existing business in downtown San Angelo, a local art and wine bar, and they contacted the SBDC during their start-up process.
Both owners are artistic and wanted to bring a new kind of art gallery to San Angelo. Director Dave Erickson from the SBDC recommended they meet with Advisor Alejandro Castanon. He has over 10 years of experience running and operating an art gallery in downtown San Angelo, which he leveraged to provide detailed guidance for them in the startup phase.
The owners of Monk worked with Alejandro to prepare their new business for its grand opening. Alejandro assisted the client with understanding basic art gallery operations, as well as marketing and promotion. The clients worked actively with Alejandro even after their opening. The relationship allows the clients to increase their probability of success by working with an experienced advisor.
“The SBDC is such an asset to the development of the business economy of San Angelo. Alejandro’s insight and knowledge are immeasurable. His guidance has made this venture so pleasurable.”
