Angelina Osornio Torres has been a long-time client of the ASU SBDC. She began working with the SBDC advising team when she first decided to start her business. Angelina planned to start a consulting business in which she utilizes her vast grant-writing skills to help area nonprofits gain access to grants that assist in supporting their mission. The business has been successful for Angelina, and over the years she has increased her team to include additional grant writers.
Like many businesses, the nonprofit world was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused Angelina’s business to take a hard hit. Once again, she reached out for support from the SBDC. Advisor James Leavelle was able to assist her in applying for various loan and grant programs to help support her business through COVID. He will continue to advise Angelina through the successes and challenges of her business in the future. Angelina stated,
“The SBDC has been an immense help to my business over the last couple of years. I know I can reach out to James or Dave and receive support quickly. They’re doing a great job!”
