Security Studies & Criminal Justice Programs Ranked Top 10 Nationally

Several of Angelo State University’s security studies and criminal justice online degree programs have again been ranked among the best and most affordable in the nation for 2022-23 by multiple higher education resource guides.
The ASU programs receiving the most recent national rankings include:
- Bachelor of Security Studies (B.S.S.) in border and homeland security
- Master of Science (M.S.) in homeland security
- Master of Science (M.S.) in criminal justice
- Master of Science (M.S.) in global security studies
All of the degree programs are offered totally online in eight-week semesters.
The B.S.S. in border and homeland security earned the following national rankings:
- TheBestSchools.org – No. 2 among the “Best Online Bachelor’s in Homeland Security”
- PublicServiceDegrees.org – No. 2 among the “Best Online Homeland Security Degrees”
- Intelligent.com – No. 4 and “Best Public University” among the “Best Online Homeland Security Programs”
- AffordableCollegesOnline.org – No. 4 among the “Best Online Bachelor’s in Homeland Security Programs”
- CollegeRank.net – No. 7 among the “35 Best Bachelor’s in Homeland Security”
The M.S. in homeland security has earned the following national rankings:
- PublicServiceDegrees.org – No. 2 among the “Best Online Homeland Security Degrees”
- BestValueSchools.com – No. 5 among the “Top Affordable Master’s in Homeland Security Online Degrees”
- OnlineMastersDegrees.org – No. 10 among the “Top Online Master’s Degrees in Homeland Security”
The M.S. in criminal justice has earned the following rankings:
- OnlineMastersDegrees.org – No. 4 among the “Best Affordable Online Master’s in Criminal Justice”
- Intelligent.com – No. 9 and “Best Program Resources” among the “Best Online Master’s in Law Enforcement Administration Programs”
The M.S. in global security studies has earned the following national ranking:
- OnlineU.com – No. 5 among the “Best Online Master’s in Security Degrees”
Since the security studies and criminal justice programs received their first national rankings in 2014, overall enrollment has increased by over 80%. The prestige added by national rankings has also helped the online M.S. programs in global security studies and homeland security to establish transfer agreements with the National Security Agency and Goodfellow Air Force Base that continue to attract students to ASU from across the country and worldwide.
