June 12, 2024

Angelo State University has been ranked among the top 30% in the 2024 “World Rankings for Best Value Universities for International Students” by the Study Abroad Aide (SAA) organization, which provides a global database of international study options at over 8,000 universities in 70 countries.

In preparing its 2024 world rankings list, SAA analyzed 8,032 universities worldwide based on two weighted metrics: Academic Quality (75%) and Cost of Education (25%).

Only accredited universities offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees were eligible for the rankings, which are based on data gathered from school websites, as well as Time magazine’s Higher Education World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings and U.S. News & World Report.

“Study Abroad Aide extends its heartfelt congratulations to Angelo State University for earning a distinguished position in the top 30% of universities worldwide,” said Roxanne Naguinlin, SAA database team leader. “This recognition highlights that your institution stands out globally for providing a great mix of high-quality education and affordability.”

For the 2023-24 academic year, Angelo State enrolled 219 international students from 31 countries on six continents. The number of ASU international students has been steadily increasing since a low of 162 students during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The top three other countries represented on the ASU campus in 2023-24 were South Korea with 77 students, Vietnam with 49 and Cambodia with 22.

Recruiting, enrolling and preparing international students to attend Angelo State is coordinated by the ASU Center for International Studies (CIS).

Angelo State international studies director David Morales David Morales “Our biggest recruiters are the students themselves,” said David Morales, CIS director. “The ASU community has made our international students truly feel part of the Ram Family, and that spirit shows when they return home. Each international graduate becomes an ASU ambassador to the greater world community, taking with them the spirit and values of ASU, and the world is noticing. We offer international students a quality education at an affordable price, while they offer us the opportunity to learn more about other cultures and be a part of their educational journey. They come to ASU from all over the world, but they go as a Ram.”
