ASU Woodwind Concert Set for Nov. 29

Angelo State University’s Woodwind Chamber Ensembles will present their fall concert on Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall and is open free to the public.  The Woodwind Chamber Ensembles include the ASU Clarinet Choir, Flute Choir and Woodwind Quintet.

The Clarinet Choir will present Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Fugue No. IV” from “The Art of the Fugue,” Johannes Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No. 3,” Max Reger’s “Benedictus” and Henry Mancini’s “Baby Elephant Walk.”  The Clarinet Choir is directed by Dr. Timothy Bonenfant, associate professor of music.

The Flute Choir will perform Bach’s “Fugue in G Minor,” Joseph Jongen’s “Two Paraphrases on Walloon Christmas Carols” and “The Flight of the Bumble Bee” by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov.  The Flute Choir is directed by Dr. Constance Kelley, assistant professor of music.

The Woodwind Quintet, directed by Dr. Jeff Womack, associate professor of music, will perform Franz Danzi’s “Quintet in G Minor, op. 56, no. 2” and Joseph Haydn’s “Presto from String Quartet in C major, Op. 22, no. 3.”
