Courtney Rutledge (Monahans) finished off her four-year career at ASU with a 12th-place finish at the conference tournament, while junior Ashley Bartholomew (Mansfield) took 13th and freshman Rashae Skillern (Alpine) placed 16th. Rutledge also recorded two top-10 showings during her senior season, taking seventh at the ASU Concho River Classic and sixth at Tarleton State’s Doc Housewright Invitational. That gave her eight tournament top-10 placings for her ASU career.
Meanwhile, Bartholomew had a season-best fifth-place showing at West Texas A&M’s Lady Buff Stampede, and sophomore Liz Chavarria (Sonora) placed 10th at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by Cameron University.
Rutledge earned All-LSC second team honors and was joined by Bartholomew on the Academic All-LSC Team. Rutledge was also a two-time LSC Golfer of the Week. Bartholomew, Jordan Jernigan (Monahans), Rutledge and Skillern were each named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll following the season for their work in the classroom.
Angelo State played eight tournaments during the 2013-14 season, finishing in the top 10 six times. The Rambelles’ best showing came at the Lady Buff Stampede, where they took fifth place out of 17 teams.
