Women’s intramural basketball team WT Impact won the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Championship Series regional basketball tournament in March at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
The ASU team defeated a University of Texas at Arlington team, 61-51, in the championship game. To get to the final, WT Impact defeated teams from Sam Houston State University, University of Denver and University of Houston.
Individually for WT Impact, Kim Haynes was named tournament MVP and joined teammate Mercedes Lopez on the all-tournament team.
