SSgt Jamel Nelson English

NCOIC, Administration Aerospace Studies

SSgt Jamel English is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Administration for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 847, at Angelo University, San Angelo, Texas. He is responsible for managing several areas of administrative support for the detachment, to include coordination with United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine and Air Force Personnel Center in support of career progression for Air Force Officer Candidates. Staff Sergeant Jamel English was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and has been in the Air Force for 5 years. His first duty station was Yokota Air Base Japan where he was stationed for 2 years during which he deployed to Kuwait for 6 months. Shortly after his deployment he was processed to his next duty station of Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. While there he was part of the Logistics Readiness Squadron for another 2 years where he made the rank of Staff Sergeant. Shortly after that he moved to US Air Forces Central and worked there for about 8 months before volunteering to come here.
