Exploring Art and Culture in Korea

The Art in South Korea program is a unique opportunity to delve into South Korea’s rich artistic heritage while traveling to Seoul and the Southern part of South Korea. The program will explore how South Korea’s art evolution from prehistoric times to the present day reflects the broader social, political, and religious history of South Korea and beyond. Students will have the opportunity to cultivate their own creative abilities by immersing themselves in South Korea’s historically significant and beautiful locations.

Students will immerse themselves in the rich cultural traditions and artistic practices of this dynamic East Asian nation. From ancient art forms to contemporary cultural trends, South Korea’s wide spectrum of artistic expressions reflects its complex history and social values, providing a window into the cultural heritage of Asia and beyond. The program offers students two courses that offer immersive experiences in Korean art, including time spent in both the classroom and studio, as well as excursions to local museums, galleries, and other areas of interest.
