Education and Educational Foundations: Germany, Italy and Greece

This study abroad program gives students the unique opportunity to study the education system in three European countries. Students will develop a basic understanding of teaching and learning in diverse countries and will observe how diverse student needs are met in the classroom.

The program includes stops in:

  • Berlin, Germany
  • Bologna, Italy
  • Reggio Emilia, Italy
  • Venice, Italy
  • Verona, Italy
  • Rome, Italy
  • Athens, Greece
  • Paros, Greece

Students will have the opportunity to observe several different classroom levels (elementary, middle, high schools and universities) in different countries. Understanding how other countries approach education will equip teachers with a better understanding of the U.S. education system and how it fits into the bigger picture of global education, which helps them to teach for diversity and transformation.
