To be eligible for the Mexico 2025 program, you must be a second-year student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

You will provide physical therapy musculoskeletal examination and treatment in an underserved, non-traditional healthcare setting under the guidance of ASU faculty.
These experiences will enrich your appreciation of the Mexican healthcare system, alternative indigenous medicine, the training of Mexican physical therapy students, and the cultural diversity of Oaxaca.
Completing this program will enhance your performance in your musculoskeletal practicum and improve your professional employment prospects when you graduate.
The program is open to currently enrolled, second- and third-year D.P.T. students. It consists of one course, and you will be graded either Pass or Fail.
PT 7220 Advanced Topics in Physical Therapy
Cultural excursions will include various medical facilities, markets, historical and archaeological landmarks, and nature sites.
All travel arrangements will be made by the faculty directors and approved by the university. Students will be extensively briefed prior to departure regarding travel arrangements and schedules with addresses and telephone numbers given each participant.
All program participants must have adequate health and accident insurance coverage in case of medical issues or emergencies. Students will be required to obtain health insurance that will provide medical and related benefits. The CIS will ensure that all students have completed their study abroad paperwork prior to departure.
To be eligible for this ASU study abroad program, you must be a currently enrolled, second- or third-year student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
You will be required to submit an application and a personal essay stating your reason for wanting to study abroad.
