Maj. Russ Foster
Major Foster serves as Aerospace Studies Department Operations Flight Commander and is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Angelo State University ROTC Det 847. Major Foster graduated from Wichita State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics.
Prior to Major Foster’s ROTC assignment, he was first enlisted as an Aerospace Technician, working on such aircraft as the B-52, B-1, KC-135, and the C-130. After serving 4 years on Active Duty, he then transferred into the Kansas Air National Guard while completing his bachelor’s degree. Upon graduating, he received his Commission through Officer Training School and was assigned to Undergraduate Pilot Training, then Intelligence Officer training at Goodfellow AFB. As an Intelligence Officer, he has served in a variety of positions and commands both stateside and overseas. He has been deployed numerous times to locations such as; Qatar, Israel, Jordan, Afghanistan, Germany, etc. His last assignment prior to joining ROTC was working on command staff at Air Force Space Command, Colorado Springs, Co.
