Interview with Frances “Pollie” Lux

In this interview, Frances “Pollie” Lux discusses her experience in the United States Air Force. Lux, who volunteered to serve during the Vietnam conflict, describes her job as a flight nurse and recounts what it was like to be in Saigon during the Tet Offensive.

    Pollie Lux was born in Arkansas and went to nursing school in Memphis, Tennessee from 1963 to 1966. After graduating from nursing school, she joined the Air Force as a nurse. Lux served as a flight nurse in the Philippines during the Vietnam War for two and a half years. Lux retired from the Air Force out of Goodfellow Air Force Base, and started teaching nursing classes at Angelo State University. She taught at ASU for 17 years before retiring.
