Interview with Homer Walker

In this interview, World War II veteran Homer Walker recounts his experiences liberating concentration camps and preparing for the invasion of Japan. He arrived in the European Theater just as the fighting was about to end. He also recalls a deadly firefight with German forces. “There are no good wars,” he says, “No good wars.”

    Homer Walker was born in Henderson County, Texas. He was drafted into the Army in 1944 at the age of 18. He was deployed to Germany in 1945 as part of the Infantry, but was later transferred to an MP unit.
