WTMA Distinguished Lectureship in Science Honoring Dr. Roy E. Moon

Priyamvada Natarajan, Ph.D.This Year’s Program

Angelo State University is pleased to welcome guest speaker Dr. Priyamvada Natarajan, a noted theoretical astrophysicist.

Natarajan studies cosmology, gravitational lensing, and black hole physics. In particular, she has focused on making dark matter maps of clusters of galaxies, the largest know repositories of dark matter. She is also actively engaged in deriving and understanding the mass assembly history of black holes over cosmic time.

About the Lectureship

The West Texas Medical Associates (WTMA) Lectureship brings a scientist of national prominence to the ASU campus each year for public lectures, colloquia and informal discussions. The academic or professional specialty of the scientist is to be in one of the basic sciences emphasized in the ASU curriculum or in an appropriate medical field.

Special Thanks to WTMA

In 1976, five physicians from WTMA established at ASU the WTMA Distinguished Lectureship in Science Honoring Dr. Roy E. Moon. The lectureship is underwritten by an annual grant to ASU from the members of WTMA.

Angelo State University and the Concho Valley community appreciate the generosity of the West Texas Medical Associates physicians and their continued support of the sciences.
