Business Student Named Provincial Collegian of the Year
Daysha Johnson of San Angelo, a graduate student in Angelo State University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, has been named the 2024 South Central Province Collegian of the Year by the Delta Sigma Pi (DSP) national professional business fraternity.

Ribbon Cutting Opens Rambelles Soccer Clubhouse
Angelo State University hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony today (April 12) to officially mark the dedication and opening of the new $2.4 million Rambelles Soccer Clubhouse.

New Partnership Agreements with Air Force Sustainment Center
Angelo State University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and an Education Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC), headquartered at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Okla., that will create paid internship and other employment opportunities for ASU students at AFSC locations, as well as new research and learning experiences for students and faculty on campus.

Accounting Professor Selected for Endowed Chair
Dr. Russell “Rusty” Calk, an Angelo State University alumnus and member of the accounting faculty, has been selected as the inaugural holder of the Low Family Endowed Chair in Accounting in ASU’s Norris-Vincent College of Business (NVCOB).

Teacher Education Program Earns State Commendation
Angelo State University’s College of Education has received a commendation from the Texas Education Agency’s State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) for graduating a high percentage of new teachers who go to work in rural Texas school districts.

Concho Hall Demolition Underway
The demolition of the Concho Hall residence hall, colloquially known as the men’s high rise, on the Angelo State University campus has begun, with completion of the approximately $5.6 million demolition project scheduled to be completed this fall.

Alpha Chi Honor Society Spring 2024 Inductees
Angelo State University’s chapter of the Alpha Chi national collegiate honor society recently inducted 41 new members for the spring 2024 semester during a ceremony in the Houston Harte University Center.

Planetarium Adds New Attraction and Learning Tool
The Angelo State University Planetarium recently installed a new GeoDome Globe in the facility’s front lobby/display area that will provide state-of-the-art learning and research opportunities for ASU students, as well as an exciting new element for community visitors of all ages.

2024 Faculty Promotions Approved by Board of Regents
Fourteen Angelo State University faculty members have had their promotions approved, effective Sept. 1, with their new ranks finalized by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents during its recent regular meeting in Wichita Falls.

$5.2 Million Gift for New Golf Facility
Angelo State University has received a $5.2 million gift from an anonymous donor to fund construction of an all-inclusive new golf facility, the Angelo State Golf Complex, on the east side of the ASU campus.
