    Anthony Fletcher, head coach of the Eastfield College Harvesters men’s basketball team, recorded his 300th career victory when his team beat the Cedar Valley Suns, 112-76, in January 2019.

  • Dr. Quentin Wright Class of 2000

    Dr. Quentin Wright was named founding president of Lone Star College-Houston North in May 2019. He assumed his duties in June 2019 for the new institution that opened this fall as the seventh college in the Lone Star College System.

    Colby Carthel was named the new head football coach at Stephen F. Austin State University in December 2018. He previously led Texas A&M-Commerce to the 2017 NCAA Division II national title in the midst of four straight playoff appearances.

    Dr. Stephanie Free was named executive director of federal and state programs for the San Angelo Independent School District in June 2019. She previously served as SAISD executive director of special programs.

  • Dr. Mary Liz Brooks Class of 2002

    Dr. Mary Liz Brooks, an assistant professor of media communication at West Texas A&M University, was selected for the Scripps Howard Foundation Visiting Professors in Media Ad Sales Program in the fall of 2018. The accompanying grant allowed her to study advertising sales that support social media and digital marketing for two weeks at the Scripps Corporate Headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Crystal Stark was re-appointed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to another term on the Rehabilitation Council of Texas. The council works with the Texas Workforce Commission to advocate for people with disabilities in the vocational rehabilitation process. Stark is a vocational rehabilitation counselor in College Station, Texas.
