Concho Valley College Night Scheduled Sept. 26 at Angelo State

Angelo State University will host Concho Valley College Night Tuesday, Sept. 26, to give area students an opportunity to visit with representatives from some 100 colleges and universities throughout Texas.

Representatives from the various institutions of higher education, as well as from different branches of the U.S. military, will be available to provide information and to answer specific questions from high school students and their parents. The college visitation is scheduled 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the C.J. Davidson Conference Center of the Houston Harte University Center at 1910 Rosemont on the ASU campus.

A special financial aid/college planning workshop will be offered in Room 110-111 of the University Center from 7-8 p.m. The workshop will feature Jim Glossbrenner, coordinator of marketing, West-Central Texas, for the Panhandle Plains Student Loan Center, and Lyn B. Wheeler, director of student financial services at ASU. They will discuss financial aid options open to students, and various factors that should be considered in planning a college career.

The purpose of the evening is to give Concho Valley area high school sophomores, juniors and seniors an opportunity to visit with representatives from the various schools regarding college admission, academic programs, costs, housing scholarships and other topics.

College Night is designed to allow students and their parents to contact a maximum of Texas institutions of higher learning at a minimum of time and effort. The session also provides a way for students to narrow their collegiate options or to explore other educational possibilities.

This will mark the 12th year that ASU has hosted the event for the Concho Valley. Students seeking additional information or interested in attending the Concho Valley College Night may contact the ASU Office of Admissions at 942-2041, Ext. 230, or their high school counselors
