ASU Art and Music Department Hosting Open House and Concert

Angelo State University's Department of Art and Music will showcase its new and redesigned facilities at an Open House Recital and Reception Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a music recital in the newly refurbished Recital Hall. Immediately following the musical program, the audience will be invited to a reception and open house that will include refreshments and a tour of the new "Gallery 193" art gallery that is currently showing the paintings of Fort Worth artist Alvaro Perez. The tour will also include the new Sculpture Studio, Graphic Design Studio, Choir Rehearsal Room and the practice room wing. All the evening's activities are open free to the public.

With musical numbers ranging from baroque to contemporary and from solo to quintet, the recital will feature performances by veteran ASU music faculty members John Irish, Pamela Lee, Ed Surface, Scott Raines, Tim Bonenfant, Jeff Womack and Christine Buckstead. New faculty members Eleanor Elkins, Daniel McCloud and Connie Kelley will also perform.
