Student Assistance Requests

If you are an Angelo State University student who is affected by Hurricane Harvey, the Ram Family stands ready to assist with concerns you may have about your education.

Academics:

Contact your college’s academic advisor, faculty members, your department chair and/or dean of your college. A faculty/ staff directory is available at angelo.edu.

Counseling:

For any student seeking individual or group crisis counseling, the Center for Counseling Services is ready to help. The center is located in the clinic facility on Johnson Street and is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Please call 325-942-2371.

For night or weekend assistance, call University Police at 325-942-2071 so a counselor can be paged, or call the MHMR Crisis Hotline at 325-653-5933.

Student Life and Housing:

Staff are available to help any student experiencing distress or in need of assistance. Call Student Life at 325-942-2062. For concerns about housing, call 325-942-2035.

Food Insecurity: Angelo State’s Multicultural Center has a small food and toiletry pantry for students in need. Food consists of nonperishable items that can make a great meal. The toiletry pantry has travel size soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, etc.

Student Financial Aid:

The Financial Aid Office would like to visit with students who are concerned about the ability to pay their bill and continue as students.

Professional Judgment: The Financial Aid Office is authorized to use professional judgment in order to more accurately reflect the financial needs of students and families affected by a disaster. If you feel that your eligibility for aid was impacted by the hurricane, please complete this form.

Hurricane Harvey Donations

Officials are currently asking that individuals and groups hold off on donating items such as used clothing, miscellaneous household items, medicine or perishable foodstuffs to disaster areas.
