Girls and their moms at Girl Power 2018

Girl Power- “Out of This World”

Girl Power 2019 will be the 8th annual event. The mission of Girl Power nonprofit program is to engage 4th- 7th grade girls and their mothers (or other important women in their lives) to help improve self-esteem, activity level, nutrition, internet safety, and communication with each other. Past attendees have reported an increased mother daughter bond, better communication skills, and stronger tools for overcoming conflict in their relationships.

This year our speakers will include veteran NASA astronaut, Nicole Stott and Miss Texas, Madison Fuller. Nicole’s experience includes two spaceflights and 104 days living and working in space on both the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station (ISS).  A personal highlight of Nicole’s spaceflight was painting the first watercolor in space. Madison is a talented ventriloquist and brings a positive message for young girls. Held at the McNease Convention Center, the program includes keynote speakers, fun breakout sessions for girls and moms, gifts bags, lunch, door prizes, free photos, and much more.
