Meet the Vice President for Finance and Administration

Angie Wright Angie Wright is the vice president for finance and administration at Angelo State University. Formerly the associate vice president for finance and administration, Wright assumed her current duties in June 2014, following 15 months as the interim VPFA.

As the vice president for finance and administration, Wright serves as the chief financial officer for the university with responsibilities of overseeing its financial operations. In addition to those duties, the ASU vice presidential position is responsible for Accounts Payable; Budget Office; Controller’s Office; Environmental Health, Safety, and Risk Management; Facilities Management; Facilities Planning & Constructions; Human Resources; Information Technology; Mail Services; Materials Management; OneCard Office; Parking Services; Payroll Services; Print Shop; Property Management; Purchasing; Special Events & Business Services; Student Accounts; Travel Office; University Health Clinic; and the University Police.

An ASU and Lakeview High School graduate, Wright joined the university in 1991 as a payroll coordinator after five years in the private sector. She was named ASU’s manager of business services in 1999. She was promoted to budget director in 2003 and then in 2005 received the responsibilities for payroll services as well. In 2006 Wright advanced to assistant vice president for finance and administration and then to associate vice president in 2007. She remained in this position until her appointment as interim vice president in March of 2013.
