BizPitch Student Business Competition

Record your BizPitch video today to win CASH PRIZES.

The purpose of the BizPitch student business competition is to promote and foster student entrepreneurship at ASU. The competition is co-coordinated between the ASU Small Business Development Center (lead) and the Norris-Vincent College of Business. BizPitch provides student learning opportunities through interaction with ASU SBDC business advisors and ASU alumni who are successful in business.

The awarded cash prizes are considered as seed money for these specific startups, but also as investments in the university’s overall ecosystem for entrepreneurship.

Five Finalists (individuals or up to a four-person team) will be selected from the applications received. The Finalists will make a live in-person 8 minute presentation to a team of judges who are ASU alum and successful in business. The judges will ask questions of each finalist for 5 minutes. Prizes will be awarded the same evening. The live in-person presentations will be open to the public.

The BizPitch student competition is open to currently enrolled Angelo State University students who are taking 6 hours or more as an undergraduate student, or 3 hours or more as a graduate student.
Up to four person-teams are allowed. Teams are encouraged but not required. BizPitch is open to students in all academic disciplines.

Entries must be startup ideas or startup ventures (in business less than one year) and may not have generated over $15,000 in revenue at the time of application.

By submitting this application form, you and any identified team members give permission to the Angelo State University SBDC and Angelo State University to use your likenesses, individual names, company name, company logo, and company video in promotional media. Teams should carefully assess intellectual property considerations and the proprietary nature of their presentation materials, as the final BizPitch presentation will be open to the public. Students retain intellectual property rights to the materials submitted and presented. Students are responsible for all taxes related to awards. For and in consideration of my participating in the 2019 BizPitch competition, I hereby expressly and knowingly release Angelo State University, its officers, agents, volunteers, and employees from any and all claims and causes of action i may have arising out of any activity conducted by, or under the auspices of Angelo State University with regard to the BizPitch competition, whether caused by my own negligence or the negligence of Angelo State University, its officers, agents, volunteers, or employees.
