Strategic Planning

Angelo State University’s mission, vision, and goals, as articulated in the strategic plan VISION 2020 (Third Edition, Spring 2017), guide institutional planning and assessment in all administrative and academic units and support strategic goals of the Texas Tech University System and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. ASU’s research-based planning and evaluation efforts result in continuous improvement at ASU and enable the university to accomplish its mission.

Planning at Angelo State University is a fluid and ongoing process based on the “bull’s-eye” principle that maintains the mission statement as the central focus of all planning efforts.

VISION 2020, Angelo State University’s strategic plan, supports this concept in the service of three primary purposes:

  • to establish targets by which achievement of the mission statement can be tracked and measured.
  • to maintain the centrality of the university’s academic programs, and
  • to provide a framework for the university’s budgeting and resource allocation process.
