Information on Changing Your Technology Access Account User Name
Due to the way that some of the systems work, you will notice changes, and in some cases, might lose settings and preferences. Below is a list of items that a user name change are known to impact. There may be other issues that you encounter that cannot be foreseen. It is important to remember that some of these changes will be irreversible. Due to the number of systems on campus that use a User name based on your last name, it will be your responsibility to contact and change your information as noted for some systems. Depending on your role at the University, many of these may not apply to you.
- Banner
- Password is reset.
- Fields with information pre-populated (as from last time using screen) might be lost.
- RamPort
- There are no known issues with changing user name in RamPort.
- Email
- Your old email account will remain active, so you will continue to receive mail from it.
- Any clients checking email must be updated to have new email user name (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.).
- Active Directory
- Note: on next logon to computer and/or VPN, the saved User Name may still be the older User Name and must be changed by the user when logging in.
- Blackboard
- Synchronization scheduling to Blackboard dictates that username changes may take up to eight hours to take effect in Blackboard. Blackboard will be inaccessible while waiting for the synchronization to occur after the username has been changed.
- FAMIS self-service
- User Name for FAMIS self-service must be updated by FAMIS administrator in Facilities Management department.
- FAMIS
- Facilities Management employees using FAMIS must contact FAMIS administrator to update their User Name.
- EMS Users
- User Name will not match EMS User Name - Must contact UC or Alumni administrator to update User Name
- Web Server (www)
- New User Name will not match www User Name – Open a Technology Service Center request to update
- Webclass
- New User Name will not match Webclass User Name – Open a Technology Service Center request to update
- Workstation
- Open a Technology Service Center request to change name of computer to match new User Name.
- Cashnet
- User Name will not match cashnet.com User Name – Open a Technology Service Center work request to update.
- Document Imaging System
- The document imaging system will be unavailable until the next business day.
- Library Employees
- User name will not match Voyager User Name – Library employees make a request to your supervisor to change name.
- SalesForce CRM
- User name will not match SalesForce Username – Contact the person in charge of your SalesForce system to update the username.
