Microsoft Outlook App

For best compatibility with Office 365, the recommended method for accessing your ASU email from an Android device is to use the Microsoft Outlook app.

Download Microsoft Outlook for Android

Once you have downloaded the app, setup is simple.

Setup

  1. Open the Outlook app.
  2. Tap “Get Started” if it’s your first time, or, go to “Settings” > “Add Account” > “Add Email Account”.
  3. Where prompted, enter your ASU email address. Be sure to use the format username@angelo.edu and not any aliases (such as firstname.lastname@angelo.edu).
  4. Tap “Continue”.
  5. The next screen is the ASU login screen for Office 365. Confirm that your email address was entered correctly, then enter your password in the password field.
  6. Tap “Sign in”.
  7. Outlook may request permission to access your calendar, contacts, etc. Tap “Yes” or “Allow”.

You can now access your ASU Mail, Calendar, and Contacts by tapping the corresponding icons at the bottom of the app.

Other Mail Apps

Although not officially supported, you may be able to use other apps that support Microsoft Exchange accounts, such as native Android mail or Gmail apps, to access your ASU email.

Directions will vary based on the app. Refer to your app’s support documentation for specific instructions for adding an account. When adding an exchange account, always use the format username@angelo.edu when prompted for your username or email address.
