What is the ACT Residual?
The ACT organization permits the administration of the ACT on this campus to students who: 1) have applied, 2) been admitted, or 3) are enrolled at Angelo State University, and are unable to test on a national test date. Scores from Residual testing are reported only to Angelo State University. No score reports from ACT will be sent to the student or high school. Residual score reports will not be issued to any other institution or agency.
The ACT is a national college entrance examination. It assesses high school students’ general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The multiple-choice test covers four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading and science.
Students may take the ACT no more than 12 times total (National and Residual combined). If a student tested previously through Residual Testing, the retest should be taken on a regularly scheduled ACT Test Date. A minimum of 60 days must elapse before repeat Residual Testing. If the retest restrictions are violated, the retest scores will be cancelled automatically without refund.
The ACT Residual is given on specific dates throughout the academic year. As a general rule, ACT Residual testing is scheduled prior to the start of each semester. Special Accommodation testing is not available through Residual testing. For Special Accommodation testing refer to the National ACT registration information. Upcoming exam dates are listed below.
